November 19 2009: Cadbury and Lime

Are we all a bit boring with the clothes we wear these days? If you go out to a formal do, most women will be wearing black or some other bland colour. The clothes we wear during the day are all so uniform and not many of us wear anything that could be considered bold.
Fashion in the seventies might be derided, but at least it was interesting and exciting – there was colour and pattern and radical shape. When did we become so conservative? Why don’t we have some fun with what we wear?
I bought this dress from one of my favourite op-shops in Bateman’s Bay. When we used to head to the south coast of New South Wales, we’d always stop in Wollongong and Bateman’s Bay for the op-shops.
It’s another dress that I’ve rarely worn – because the colours stand out and I was nervous about it. It’s another warm crimplene number but I like the belt and the pattern.
But I’m glad I wore it today.
