November 3 2009: A little bit racy

I love this dress, it’s one of my favourites but alas it has a stain that means I’ve only been able to wear it to parties where I know it will be dark – today is an exception.

It was a gift from the marvellous Meredith who has the biggest vault of vintage clothes of anyone I know. She’s a master at going through every item in the op-shop to find the buried treasure.

The dress is late sixties and made of silk. It feels fantastic to wear.

The hat is on loan from Meredith and the shoes I picked up in a charity shop years ago. I’ve only recently resurrected the shoes by removing a horrible sole fixed with a tacky black glue.

I would love to have this dress copied so I can wear a version of it more often.
